meta

Metadesign

In design terms, METADESIGN is an interdisciplinary activity to manage and strategically address the process, and therefore, the name itself already expresses new design and concepts behind the idea. For boats, for the construction processes and for services.

Meta, in Italian, means an objective or destination to be reached: a journey, a holiday, relaxation, but also the finishing point of a structure that has reached maturity: meta is an idea, a company project. It started with the V50’, which is the result of a shared vision in terms of approach to the sea and collaborative design, with architect Guido Spadolini. It is a brand to identify a range of special products which are separate from, but parallel to Vismara’s day-to-day business activities: building excellent bespoke boats.

It is our range for “a different way of going to sea”. Meta means making boats that correspond to the quality characteristics/ethos of Vismara concerning “lightweight sailing”, with “controllable” costs and of interest to the marketplace. To do this, it was decided to industrialise the process, from design through to building, sales and scheduled assistance and servicing. Meta products bring together all of the experience built up over 25 years of building special boats, of research and innovation. We want to offer our customers a simple route: a definite basic platform to work with when building their own customised boat for navigation either under sail- or motor power but above all with greater simplicity and easy use.
